Travelling with crypto: a practical guide

Your crypto doesn't need to stay at home when you travel. Here's how to use it abroad with confidence — before you fly, on arrival and while you're away.

Before you go

  • Check that your destination is supported in the KrypKard app.
  • Top up in advance so you're not relying on a transfer while on the move.
  • Add your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay as a backup if your physical card is lost.
  • Review your limits for card spending and ATM withdrawals so there are no surprises.
  • Save the support contact somewhere you can reach it offline.

Paying abroad

When you pay with KrypKard, your crypto is converted into the local currency at the point of sale. You don't need to swap into euros, pounds or dollars before you travel.

If a card machine asks whether to pay in your home currency or the local currency, choose the local currency. Letting the merchant convert for you — known as dynamic currency conversion — often comes with a worse rate.

Using ATMs

You can withdraw local cash at ATMs that accept Visa. Some ATM operators add their own fee, which is usually shown on screen before you confirm. Withdrawing larger amounts less often can help keep those fees down.

Staying safe on the road

  • Turn on instant transaction alerts.
  • Avoid public Wi-Fi for account logins, or use a trusted VPN.
  • If your card goes missing, freeze it in the app straight away and keep paying with your phone.

Travel light

With one card and one app, your crypto moves with you — no exchange desks, no stacks of foreign notes. Spend crypto. Live anywhere.
